Today was our free day, so we as a group got a lot of our filming done. Initially I assumed I would end up being the editor, since I was the only production major, but I ended up writing and acting in it. I’m not an actor, but our piece was a mockumentary so I got by. Filming with a group is always interesting, especially with the majors involved (we had me, TWP, Kimmy, Screenwriting, Will, Animation, Brian, VFX, and David, Data Analytics), but it worked out fine. The only hitch was that we spent too long discussing decisions because there wasn’t a clear director, and I couldn’t be the director since I was also acting in it, so we lost some light at the very end. It was also a very different experience than my Intro to Visual Storytelling group, because they were all women of very different majors. It was interesting to work in a group of mostly men, because I’m sure that will reflect my experience in the industry.
Will and I saw the Cursed Child as well, and it was awesome.
