Post Paris Thoughts

I’ve been to Paris and London before but it was nice to visit again as an adult (a small adult, but an adult nonetheless). I loved interacting with both cities and having a greater understanding of their cultures now that I’m not 13 or 17. I was only in Paris for three days at 17 anyway. It was also cool to see both cities through the lense (hah) of film. Honestly being in Europe made me more critical of my own country. I know Europeans are struggling with some of the same unfortunate antiglobalization mindsets as we are in America, blaming immigrants for everything and being generally racist, but a lot of aspects of their governments, especially France’s government, makes so much more sense to me. It was refreshing to me that in my travels to four different countries (including Scotland and Netherlands) I saw protests in three of them. It’s cool to see people angry and passionate and fighting for what they believe in. It gives me hope for the future.
